Consultant Psychiatrist
Dr Rehana Shakir is a Consultant Psychiatrist. She leads the Autism and ADHD
pathway for children and adolescents with special needs in the NHS within Enfield. She has a wide range of experience, first graduating from Tver State
medical Institute in Russia, working in Sri Lanka, then followed by over 20 years of experience in psychiatry in the NHS.
She did her postgraduate training in the Oxford deanery, specialising in the
psychiatry of intellectual disabilities. Later, she developed a special interest in neurodevelopmental conditions such as ADHD and Autism across all ages,
with further postgraduate qualifications in Autism Spectrum Disorders.
She is trained in Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS), Autistic
diagnostic interview-Reviewed (ADI-R), Developmental Dimensional and
Diagnostic interview (3Di) and PEERS® social skills training for autistic children.
